Mental Health Month Book Suggestions

We are more than halfway through mental health month and I hope you have been finding ways to take care of yourself.

Here are a few of my favorite self-care books you might enjoy.

  • Anti-Diet - Examination of why diets don’t work and how to reclaim your time, money, health, and happiness.

  • What Happened to You - Changing our thoughts from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

  • Unwinding Anxiety - Advice on managing anxiety through curiosity about the benefits of our habits and small moments of mindfulness. I also recommend his app.

  • The Body is Not an Apology - Replacing shame and self-loathing with radical self-love as a way to heal and dismantle injustice.

  • PostPardon Me - Personal journey and support for postpartum depression and anxiety.

  • The Wellness Trap - Examination of the harms of wellness culture. Trust your body and question who is making money by shaming you.

  • Enough As She Is - Helping girls, and adults, step away from feeling they constantly need to do more and start to see themselves as enough.

  • Hot and Bothered - If you are experiencing menopause or think you might be, read the chapters that correspond with the content you need.
