Accountability Group!
Many people find they can hold themselves accountable for a task they don’t want to do if they tell someone about it. An even more productive method for many is to do the task at the same time others are working on tasks they find challenging.
Prior to working from home, I enjoyed the camaraderie of working in an office. Now that I’m at home, I realize I miss not only the social connections but also the feeling of working on something while others nearby are also working. Who knew that was going to be something people missed?
On Dec 12th I launched a 30-minute Get It Done! accountability session for my clients and others. At 11:15 am PT/ 2:15 pm ET we log in, set an intention, and get to work.
I found I was nervous about starting it but once I did, it’s been amazing.
I share my screen with a 30-minute countdown timer so people can join whenever they can. Intentions can be shared or not.
I use the time to get things started that I don’t want to do. Something about knowing others are also trying to get something done, the short time frame, and the responsibility of running the session has made it work for me. While the session runs for 30 minutes, I often keep working. Having a set time and wanting to make the most of it has made it easier to start difficult tasks. Starting at 15 minutes after the hour might help me as well.
Going forward, I might log in 5 minutes early to set my intention.
There’s something joyous about checking something off while knowing that others are also tackling things that are challenging for them.
If you are interested in joining and are not already a client, click here to schedule a trial session or here to schedule a package of five.
