December Intention: Notice, Acknowledge, and Celebrate

Once again it’s the end of the month and for those of us in the United States, it’s Thanksgiving weekend.

In November I challenged myself to focus on letting go of things that bothered me. It’s been tough! This past weekend I had travel delays, an extended period outside in the cold, a recycling issue, normal family stress, and a few other visits to realms far from my comfort zone. In each case, I found a new perspective, sometimes days later, but still a new perspective.

By noticing the challenges I’m also working on how to overcome them faster.

My challenges fell into two main categories, wanting to be comfortable (I’m hungry, tired, bored, etc.) and wanting control (this is what needs to be done, this is how it needs to be done, etc.).

I often want to control more when I feel uncomfortable. And… my thoughts about what is comfortable can be fleeting.

What does being comfortable feel like for you? How do you find comfort when you are outside your comfort zone?

Having been challenged this month, I want to end the year focused on something positive and fun. My goal for December is to continue to make progress on being the person I want to be by focusing on the positive. I am going to spend the month noticing when I’m doing something positive, pausing to acknowledge it, and celebrating it.

Below is the December log. I am continuing to note my Energy Levels (see Mapping Feelings to the Energetic Self-Perception Chart for more on Energy Levels) and recording notes for at least 21 days of the month.

I hope you have a wonderful December with much to celebrate!
