Packing List for Dorms and Apartments!
It’s that time of year when many young adults are heading off to school. As a parent of two boys who went to boarding school, this will be our 15th and 16th move-in. Below is a list of our essentials. Some of the items we brought, some we shipped, and some we bought once we got there. Click here for a PDF of this page
Considerations
What is the climate like? Lots of learning when moving from balmy California to the East Coast.
What stores are within walking distance and what are their hours? What modes of transportation are available (scooter, bike, car, bus, train, etc.)?
How many people will be in the space and how large is it? We suggest limiting the amount of stuff to start until you figure out what you need.
How much personal space will you have and how do you want to feel there?
